Lincoln is a Published Author!

One of the cool things about our Elementary school is that they have their own publishing company. This gives the students the opportunity to write, illustrate, and publish their very own book. It was a lot of work, but Lincoln was one out of two students in his class that completed the process. His book is titled My Crazy Day at the Kennedy Space Center. It's science fiction/humor. Here he is at an "Author's Tea" this week where all the kids who published books were recognized and got to show off their books. Both Lincoln AND Lawson are already formulating stories for next years books!

Craz-E Zebra's

On the way home from San Antonio to Dallas, I decided to take the boys somewhere we have always talked about going. It's one of those places where you drive through and the animals come right up to your car. Natural Bridge Wildlife Park, in New Braunfels. The boys loved it, and cracked up at me because I was kind of freaking out at these crazy zebra's that would put their entire head inside of our car and open their mouths like this!!!

The L's

The boys all dressed and ready to go to Masen's 1st birthday party! Cute Kids!

And later that night, dinner at Sea Island.

Visit to the Capital

I have lived in Texas for 30 years and have NEVER BEEN to the state capital in Austin!!! Last weekend, me and the boys traveled from Dallas to San Antonio for Masen's 1st birthday party... I thought it would be a good time to actually stop and tour the capital in Austin. The boys loved it and are already asking to go back! Their favorite part was eating a yogurt parfait in the basement, and playing (which ended up being "swimming") in these water fountains. We could have spent half a day just playing on the outside grounds!

Pre-School Graduation

Lawson graduated from preschool, and will happily start Kinder in the Fall! His class put on a super cute end of the year show for us. Even Daddy was able to come watch!

Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed

The boys completed our 4th year of participating in AWANA.
At awards night, they were presented with many awards including Lawson's Cubbie of the Year (2nd year in a row).
It's time for him to move onto Sparks with Lincoln!!!!

L3

L3 (turned one in April)
Lennox is our "bonus baby". At one point we had totally written off the idea of having a 3rd... I think when we decided "no", is when we freaked out and determined we HAVE to have one more! Each and every day I look back and am so thankful that we made the brave step for #3.... He definitely completes our family!
Our biggest prayer was for him to be happy and healthy. God answered our prayers in a big way because he couldn't be any more happy or any more healthy!
To describe Lennox in a nutshell: He's everyone's "dream" baby. He sleeps good, eats good, is happy, and is never sick. As in all 3rd babies I'm sure, he just goes with the flow. He is enamored by his 2 bigger brothers. L3 has always been very verbal and has comprehended words at an early age. He is really trying to talk and tell us things, and can say 15-20 words at 13 months.
He is very cautious, timid, and shy. More so than the other 2. Certain sounds scare him, and he is scared of certain toys. He is a cuddler and loves to be held and be mommy's boy (I'm not complaining!)
He loves cars... For the past 6 months, we will sit on the front bench swing and he will wait and point at every car that goes by, "Caaa". He even calls airplanes cars!
He loves to swing, go on bike rides in the trailer, stroller walks, play in sandbox, swim, baths, balls!, sing, read books, listen to music.
Lennox has been given the nickname Knox by Ron and Len by the boys.

Rub a Dub

A 3 boy bath is always eventful!
(me and my 2 sisters always took baths together... once a week! And I still remember that!)

Mom's Day

This is what my Mother's Day Weekend looked like:
Friday night, I got to be a proud mom watching my boys shine at swim team pre-season practice. It's going to be an exciting swim team season with both boys on the team! Love watching them.

Saturday I got to spend most of the entire day at Lincoln's school for his family fun day. All 5 of us rode our bikes up there, we were the 1st family there and the last family to leave! The boys enjoyed a day of laser tag, human hamster ball, teacher dunking booth, petting zoo, show's, bounce houses, fencing, and lot's more fun.... At the silent auction, I was trying to win Lincoln "coach of the day" or a "fishing with 3 friends outing during lunch" or "pizza and movie" with his teacher after school. Along with a few baskets I was bidding on for myself... For awhile I was top bidder on about 6 or 7 things so I was getting worried, but at the last minute I was outbid on everything but one. Lincoln was happy, we won Pizza and Movie with his teacher!

Saturday night, our sweet family of 5 went out to dinner at our favorite local Mexican place to celebrate Mom's day. Yum-o.... And all 3 boys were perfectly behaved and so sweet.

After this long day (we were all sunburned), the big boys and I got dressed up in our church clothes, picked up our neighbor and her son, and headed to the Flower Mound Symphony/Orchestra where we watched a ballet performance of Peter and the Wolf. LOVED this special time with L1 and L2 !!

Sunday morning, I was brought breakfast in bed along with a never ending stream of gifts! I really needed some clothes, so I got a new Ann Taylor wardrobe! I also got a Boy Mom T-shirt I requested, and a book I asked for. But most special of all was the gifts the boys handmade at school and were saving for me. We all got to church (stress free), listened to a very powerful message on relationships, and the boys had more gifts for me.
All 5 of us packed up to go to the outdoor pool at our gym... It was in the 90's here today, so it was a perfect day for a swim! Lennox loved the water, and of course the other boys swam like fish and went down the slides hundreds of times.
Ron cooked out and took care of the dinner and dishes. We ended the night with a bike on the trails.
God blessed me with not one, not two, but with THREE PERFECT sons. I feel so lucky I can't even put it into words.

L2

L2
My most favor-ist middle child!
Lawson will be starting Kindergarten come this fall. Currently he is going to a short 2 day a week (4 hrs each day, total 8 hrs per week) pre-K program.
Lawson is EXTREMELY persistent and driven (gets that from his Dad). This trait surfaced as early as a baby. He loves to be put to work and do jobs. Boy is he a hard worker!
Even though it's hard to tell at such an early age, it seems as if he is highly intelligent... Especially in the math area. He definitely has some sort of amazing math skill. He loves numbers, and is always "calculating" things in his mind. He even gets the concept of division and multiplication... And not to "compare" but he seems to be at a higher level of math than his brother who is in 1st grade. As I am sitting down helping L1 with math, L2 is in the background shouting out the answers! He has started reading, and I love that he reads ME books now. We do A LOT of reading/library time in the summer, so by the time he starts kinder in the fall he should be a proficient reader!
If I had to define him in one word, it would be 'busy". Definitely not the hyper type of busy and not the ADHD busy... Just busy! He doesn't require much sleep (another trait from his daddy), and he is on the go for the entire day with his only "down time" being forced by me... He stays up later than L1 and wakes up before L1. He just pops out of bed (6:15ish), dresses himself and is ready to start the day!
Sports!!! This kid is exceptional at each and every sport he tries. Currently he is the soccer star of his team, and will be on the swim team this summer. He has quite the arm, and can throw a power ball!
Lawson is shy, and get's embarrassed easily (unlike his older brother, but like his mom!). If he is feeling very comfortable with friends he does have a silly/humorous side and can crack people up. He loves to make his older brother laugh by being silly! Even though he is somewhat shy, having friends is important to him. In school, they say is the leader and the "cool kid", he gets the other kids to follow him and play what he wants to play. He has a couple of close neighborhood friends, that he is CONSTANTLY wanting to play with... He is always asking to have friends over from school, and I attempt to make play date arrangements for him as much as possible!
Something that I didn't expect was how amazing he is with his baby brother. He will play with the baby the whole entire day without even taking a break! He has a great sense of what the baby needs... He will run and get his "paci" if he starts to cry, go get his favorite toys, come tell me if the baby is hungry/thirsty. He just loves loves loves that baby!!! They say the middle child has the "difficult" placement (I was one!) but so far it seems as if he has the best of both worlds... He is the only that has both a big brother and a little brother, and he has such amazing relationships with both! 99% of the time, he and Lincoln are best buds and I think that they get along so well because they are completely different!
Physically: Lawson is the one of the 3 boys that is constantly being told he looks like me! I can't remember one time someone telling me that Lincoln looks like me, but I hear about Lawson looking like me on an almost daily basis! His height: he started out being on the "short end" of the scale, now he is consistently in the 50% average for his height... meaning he will be probably be around Ron's height... (Lincoln supposedly by the doc's calculations will be just over 6foot).... He's got the blond hair, big blue droopy eyes, thick eyelashes. Super handsome kid (facial scars and all)!
Even though he is extremely strong and athletic, he is very accident prone. 1st broken bone of the boys, and 1st and only so far (where's the wood) stitches. It is very common for at any point in time for him to have either a black eye, bloody lip, or a bump on his head. His elbows and knee's are constantly scraped up and his body is always covered with random bruises, scrapes, and scratches. He's ALL BOY and he plays hard!
This kid loves Super Hero's and Star Wars, and all that "all boy" stuff. Something I wasn't prepared for after L1 never once picked up a super hero or a matchbox car. It was really fun seeing him play so differently than my 1st!
His nicknames at home are either Lawsy, or The Bear. If you want to know where The Bear name originated, just ask Ron to explain next time you see him. This kid loves to eat avacado's and broccoli!
Lawson is the one who I'm predicting will be very college scholarship eligible due his brains/athletic ability!
